State Releases the Annual Performance Report (APR)

As we have been celebrating over the last 2 years, our De Soto district has been skyrocketing in achievement growth.  We have experienced double digit percentage growth across the board the last 2 years and have moved to the top of the county in many areas.  We are so PROUD to say that the same is true for our APR scores as well.  
APR consists of not only state assessment data, but also looks at graduation rate, attendance, district strategic planning, and even climate and culture.  These items are scored and that cumulative score is your APR.  APR scores are used for District Accreditation. Last year, our District scored 145.7 points out of the 180 total points, or 80.9% of the possible points.  This year, we jumped to 162 out of 190 points possible for a percent total of 85.2%!  That is amazing growth, and reflects the intentional efforts of our teachers, administrators and staff to support students in all areas for continued growth.  
Our achievement scores were On Track (meaning proficient in all areas) or Target (perfect scores) in all areas. Our students showed above average growth in both ELA and Math.  
Outside academics, our District is showing growth in our advanced courses with the addition of programs like Project Lead the Way and dual credit courses, and we are improving in our graduation rate and follow up since the COVID Pandemic shut down.  
We are beyond proud of the work our staff is doing to show continuous growth each year, and move up to the top of the county in so many areas.  However, there is still work to be done!  Our focus over the next year will be on improving our student attendance score, as well as continuing to support our advanced courses and opportunities for students to take the ACT.  With family support in both of these areas, there is no doubt that we will see De Soto as the top District in the county in the very near future!
